Douglas Ferguson

Douglas Ferguson leads Johnson Elborne’s Asia-Pacific business from Singapore, specialising in senior commercial and leadership appointments across energy, metals, and agriculture. With two decades of experience in commodities executive search, he has built a strong reputation for delivering top-tier talent to trading houses, investment firms, and energy companies worldwide.

Douglas began his career in 2006 at Webber Chase in London. In 2012 he relocated to Singapore to expand the business across Asia, later launching a spin-off in 2014 with research teams in Singapore, London, and Beijing. He went on to broaden his client portfolio at Kariba Energy, working with hedge funds, trading houses, and asset managers across multiple commodities markets.

Before joining Johnson Elborne, Douglas served as Portfolio Director – Head of APAC Energy at HC Group from 2019 to 2023, advising global clients on executive search and talent strategy in energy and commodities. His extensive network, deep market knowledge, and strategic approach make him a trusted partner for clients navigating the complexities of global talent acquisition.

Douglas holds a degree in Mathematics and English Literature from the University of Manchester. Based in Singapore, he enjoys travel and time with his wife and children.
