George Johnson is Co-Founder of Johnson Elborne, and is regarded as a leading industry expert in the commodities market. Recognised for his deep market knowledge and trusted international network, he has a consistent track record of placing front-office talent for leading trading houses, hedge funds, investment banks, and financial institutions worldwide.
George began his recruitment career in 2008 and joined a market leading search firm in 2011, relocating to Singapore the following year to lead and expand the firm’s commodities practice across Asia-Pacific. Under his leadership, the business strengthened its position globally, working with key market participants across Europe and Asia. Returning to London in 2016, he continued to drive growth before co-founding Johnson Elborne with Tim in 2018.
His expertise spans oil, gas, power, metals, agriculture, and derivatives, providing him with a unique vantage point on global market trends and the evolving demands of the sector.
George holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Durham and is known for his relationship-driven approach to executive search. Based just outside London with his wife and three children, George balances family and work life with many sporting interests. He also runs a successful horse racing syndicate and maintains a strong interest in the bloodstock industry.
